Maine Lobster Roll Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 lobster tails (about 4-6 oz each), cooked and chopped
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 split-top New England-style rolls
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1-2 slices of lemon, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Cook the Lobster:
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lobster tails and cook for 6-8 minutes, or until the shells turn bright red and the meat is opaque.
  2. Remove the lobster tails from the pot and set them aside to cool slightly. Once cool enough to handle, remove the lobster meat from the shells and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
2. Make the Lobster Filling:
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, and Old Bay seasoning (if using). Stir until well combined.
  2. Add the chopped lobster meat and gently fold to coat it in the creamy mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
3. Toast the Rolls:
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the butter. Once melted, place the split-top rolls in the skillet and toast them for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
4. Assemble the Lobster Rolls:
  1. Once the rolls are toasted, spoon the lobster mixture into each roll, filling them generously.
5. Serve:
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and a slice of lemon on the side. Serve immediately and enjoy your Maine Lobster Roll with a side of chips or a light salad.
