Delicious Vegan Veggie Pizza

Vegan Pizza Recipe:

Ingredients:

For the Whole Wheat Pizza Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 1/2 cups vegan cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup olives (sliced)
  • 1 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
  • Optional: fresh basil, oregano, or red pepper flakes for seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
    • In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water and add yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  2. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
  3. Roll Out the Dough:
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza peel (if using a pizza stone).
  4. Assemble the Pizza:
    • Spread a layer of tomato sauce over the crust. Sprinkle with vegan cheese, then add olives, mushrooms, and bell peppers. If desired, add fresh herbs or spices.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven, slice, and enjoy hot!
