Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup plant-based milk (almond, oat, or coconut)
  • 1-2 teaspoons chai spice mix (or a combination of ground cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and cardamom)
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Boil water: In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add spices: Stir in the chai spice mix and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavors.
  3. Heat milk: In a separate saucepan, heat the plant-based milk over medium heat until warm (do not boil).
  4. Combine: Strain the chai mixture into the warm milk and add maple syrup to taste. Stir well to combine.
  5. Flavor it: Add vanilla extract for additional flavor if desired.
