Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch curly kale, washed and dried
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional seasonings: garlic powder, nutritional yeast, or chili flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  2. Prepare the Kale:
    • Remove the thick stems from the kale leaves and tear them into bite-sized pieces. Make sure the pieces are relatively uniform in size for even baking.
  3. Toss with Olive Oil:
    • In a large bowl, toss the kale pieces with olive oil until they are well coated. Use your hands to massage the oil into the leaves for better flavor absorption.
  4. Season:
    • Sprinkle with salt and any optional seasonings (like garlic powder or nutritional yeast) and toss again to ensure even distribution.
  5. Bake the Kale:
    • Spread the kale in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Avoid overcrowding for optimal crispiness.
    • Bake for 10-15 minutes, checking frequently to prevent burning. The kale is done when it’s crispy and slightly browned.
  6. Cool and Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let the chips cool for a few minutes. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later.
